I practically had to re-insert my eyeballs the first time I took a look at this map.\u00a0 It’s a treasure trove of information from pre-civil war Chateaugay, barely 60 years after the first settlers arrived.\u00a0 I’m sure that many experts on Chateaugay’s history have seen it, but I had no idea it was out there.<\/p>\n

Like the 1876 map from a previous post, it shows residents names. A quick look at the Northeast Corner of town, where Earlville meets the Quaker Settlement revealed some really exciting facts.\u00a0 Well – exciting for me, as I make it no secret that I’m a Bradshaw\/Chateaugay, NY\/History\/Map nerd. Your mileage may vary.<\/p>\n
